Our Story
Rowan Moon Community Herbs was the first seed planted on this journey — a dream rooted in the belief that healing belongs to everyone, and that plants have always known that.
Founded as an official chapter of Herbalists Without Borders, Rowan Moon brings the ancient wisdom of herbal medicine into the hands of the Sussex County community. We grow, we learn, we share, and we give back.
Our raised beds are tended by community hands. Our herbs are given freely. And one dedicated bed in our garden exists solely to donate back to the HWB donation network — connecting our local harvest to a global mission of healing without borders.
What We Do
Everything we do at Rowan Moon is rooted in community, guided by the cycles of nature, and given freely in the spirit of Herbalists Without Borders.
Raised beds tended by community members, growing medicinal and culinary herbs for sharing, learning, and giving back to those in need.
One dedicated raised bed grows exclusively for donation back to the Herbalists Without Borders donation network — connecting our harvest to global healing.
As a recognized HWB chapter, Rowan Moon has access to seed grants and can request items for making remedies or giving away to the community.
Creating tinctures, teas, salves, and other herbal preparations to share freely with community members who need them.
Teaching traditional plant medicine, growing practices, and the wisdom of herbal healing to anyone who wants to learn.
Connected to Higher Ground Outreach and HopeWoven — a growing family of community-centered organizations in Sussex County.
The Garden
At the heart of Rowan Moon's garden is a raised bed dedicated entirely to giving back. Everything grown in this bed is harvested and donated directly to the Herbalists Without Borders donation network — carrying Sussex County's soil into a global mission of healing without barriers.
Calendula, echinacea, lemon balm, chamomile, and other time-honored healing plants grown with intention.
Basil, rosemary, thyme, lavender — herbs for everyday life, shared freely with neighbors and community members.
Through HWB seed grants, Rowan Moon can request seeds, starts, and supplies to keep the garden growing and giving.
